"Graffiti On Aspen Trees" Nature or Man Made

In 2007 while walking through the aspen groves of  northern New Mexico, I was captured by the beautiful patterns made by nature or man on the softly off white trunks of aspen trees.  Some an artist pallet be it paint or sculpture, others painfully distorted mutations created by knifes or axes.  There is the presence, the anger man inflicts on the enviromnent and there is the presents of healing over the life time of 100 years. One small scratch on a young sappling will mutate and deform over the trees entire life time.
